When you say Connemara you say Jumping pony at the
same time. Jumping is the first thing that comes in mind when you
think of Connemara's. There have been world famous jumping horses
with 50% Connemara blood. The most famous example is Dundrum, who
was bred out of a Connemara mare. But also purebred Connemara's
can be found at the top of the jumping sport. For instance Naughty
van Graaf Janshof who was ranked third on the list of the 20 best
performing stallions in Europe. Several times he has participated
in the European Championships (riding for Belgium) and his best
achievement here was a 6th place.
In 1997 and 1998 Micheal Greve has participated with
Connemara's in international jumping contests. Here are pictures
of him with three different Connemara's. The white pony is Quarry
Hill, an Irish pony. The other two have been bred in France, but
both ponies have Dutch Connemara blood in their veins.
We had two approved stallions in Holland which were
ZZ show-jumping: Ashfield Silver Ghost (now gelded) and Hatatitla
van de Leliaard.

The mother of Hatatitla is a good jumper too: Bibi
