Originally the Connemara is known for having outstanding
jumping capabilities, nevertheless the Connemara can also be seen
in the higher regions of dressage. About 10-15 years ago most of
the Connemara's had paces with a lot of knee action, which weren't
very convenient in dressage. The last years however in Holland selection
was made on more ground-covering strides and nowadays the Connemara
is very suitable for dressage.

Iltshi van de Leliaard, another licensed stallion,
has competed on Z1-level and won several prizes. Clara van de Kiboets
should also be mentioned as a high-class dressage pony.

Ben Hur van de Leliaard has competed against riding
horses. The jury couldn't ignore him, his second start at M-level
was good for a second place.
Of course several ponies compete at lower levels
and we don't want to forget them.
