August 8, 2009 two Connemara's won the regional championships in L2-dressage. Djoeke Louman with Domino van de Zonnehoeve (Ermelo Schueracher) and Lisa van der Hulst (see picture) with May's Delight Westland (Garryhinch Finn) will compete on the Hippiade, the national championships on August 29.
On June 16, 2008 the licensed stallion Thunderstorm passed away. He was a great dressage pony who won several prizes with his rider Jeanine van het Schut. During ONCK 2008 they gained the highest score for a dressage test during the day. Thunderstorm will be missed at home and at all the Connemara show- and performance events.

Two Connemara ponies won the Regional Championships in dressage: Jessica BAF ridden by Denise Hoogzaad won the class Z1-dressage in Noord Holland. The licensed stallion Thunderstorm ridden by Jeanine van het Schut won the class M2-dressage in Gelderland. Congratulations!
Champion stallion for the year 2004 is Easter van de Leliaard. He combined a true Connemara type with good paces and a good performance. Two young stallions (3 and 4 years old) presented themselves for the inspectors, but they didn't qualify for a license.
Two stallions who weren't present in the years before returned and received a license again: Buachaill O'Eirne and Anders van de Leliaard. Ben Hur van de Leliaard who didn't got a license last year, was in a very good condition again, and can be used again for breeding. The jumping competition was won by Finn Mc. Cloud Westland, who was second last year. His half brother Armando van Strijthagen, first last year, was beaten this time and received a second prize.
Brimstone van Graaf Janshof qualified for the performance award (prestatie). He qualified through the dressage results with Laurie Janssen and the drivng results with Inez Kooij. Brimstone started his performance career on an age of 20!

One new stallion is the result of the inspections on April 6. Finn Mc. Cloud Westland, a grey son of Garryhinch Finn and Winter Cloud got his license due to good type and jumping ability. Diplomat, a 16 years old son of Diamond Rum got his keur-award. He is the 5th stallion in Holland that received such an award.

Four champions were selected on the National show on September 1. Best foal was Hagrid van de Leliaard, Youth Champion Mufke van Strijthagen. Champion stallions was (again) Hatatitla van de Leliaard and Champion mares was the nice bay Comara Dutchy. A ridden contest was also organized. Winner was Brimstone van Graaf Janshof.

June 19, 2002 the stallion Atlantic Curragh died. Even on this old age, he still was going strong as if he was a young pony. Running around and in his 33th year he successfully covered a mare, resulting in a now 1 year old filly. He will be missed dearly at the Leliaard stud. This picture has been taken a few weeks before his death.

New licensed stallion.

On the 7th of April the inspections took place in The Hague. The jury awarded 1 young stallion with a license. The grey Easter van de Leliaard showed good paces and good jumping abilities. He is by Brimstone van Graaf Janshof (keur) out of Easter Daisy (keur, prestatie).

After the inspections several stallions were showed. Marvel van Graaf Janshof and his son Bright Moon Westland looked great. Buachaill O'Eirne and Ashfield Silver Ghost (both imported from Ireland) were showed ridden by Brigitte Smits. She competes with them in show jumping. Especially Ashfield is competing very well. Brimstone van Graaf Janshof and Ben Hur van de Leliaard were ridden by Laurie Jansen and Anja de Graaf and gave a demonstration dressage (with music). The versatility of the Connemara was showed again today.

On November 10 two Connemaras did a performance test.
The talent for walk, trot, gallop and jumping was tested. Also character and easiness to ride was part of the test.
The mare Anky van de Leliaard was rewarded with a C-certificate with 71 points.
The licensed stallion Ben Hur van de Leliaard was rewarded with an AA-certificate with the very good result of 96 points.

Vanessa preferent-award

On November 5, 2002 the request for the preferent-award for the mare Vanessa was discussed and approved. So, we can add a new preferent-mare to the list. Vanessa earned this award through her off-spring: the licensed stud Comara Monday Morning Flash, ster-mare Comara Dutchy and first premium mare Comara Badly Wanted Kilkelly. We congratulate Mrs. De Rooij with this success.
